I can’t say enough good things about MacDonald Hardwoods. We ran into several challenges with our 1,400 square foot project, and yet installation started on the day we scheduled and was completed ahead of schedule. Wow. Communication from Steve was excellent throughout, and the company was more than fair in sharing the load of some unexpected sub-floor prep expenses. I’m still in shock. We’ve installed wood floors before in another city, and the experience was unbearably slow and stressful. While we paid more this time around, it was 100% worth it given our time constraints and low stress tolerance during a relocation. I think this is as painless as installing flooring gets. This company really does deliver what they promise! I wish I could give them 10 stars.

I can’t rave about this place enough, they carry so many choices. We took out carpet and put in hardwood floors. We chose Hickory and it’s beautiful. So much easier to keep clean. The team was extremely helpful. There knowledgeable about all wood products, I wish we had more floors to do.

We checked out a few options in town and ultimately felt like the product we chose at MacDonald was both high quality and the right aesthetic fit for our home. We also decided to work with an installer through MacDonald. We had about 1700 sq ft installed and the overall process went smoothly. It’s always a bit disruptive to be living through a project like this, but the install was as fast as I could have imagined it and well done.

As soon as we walked in we spotted the floor we were searching for. We wanted a medium brown, prefinished, real hardwood. Over the past five years, we have made two purchases of hardwood from MacDonald and have been completely satisfied with their products, sales service and installation service. Especially important is selecting the right hardwood flooring product for the particular situation. We love the Hickory and Red Oak flooring we purchased from MacDonald Hardwoods, they are beautiful and practical. These installations were in older homes, and involved removal of existing carpet. It is always a good idea to remove some/all of the carpet before committing to the hardwood purchase because often a surprise (tile/mortar) can exist under the carpet. The other point to note is that if there are exterior doors one must be very careful, and not just assume that the elevation of the new 3/4 inch hardwood will work, we experienced that issue necessitating additional door threshold work by another carpenter to accommodate the new floor. I strongly recommend MacDonald Hardwoods and the service of Bruce, Tom and the others.
